Journey
Shun Breezy, born Oluwaseyi Abiodun Adedeji, is a Nigerian Afro-fusion singer, songwriter, and performer whose music blends Afrobeats, R&B, Fuji, Gospel, and contemporary pop influences. Hailing from Ogun State and raised in Lagos, he developed an early connection to music through his upbringing in the Celestial Church, where he sang in the choir and played drums. These formative experiences, coupled with exposure to artists such as Shina Peters and Yinka Ayefele, helped shape the melodic and culturally rooted sound he later described as “Afro Life."
His passion for music emerged during childhood, when he spent years lip-syncing to various genres before beginning to write his own songs as a teenager. The loss of his mother in 2012 became a defining moment in his life and career, motivating him to pursue music with greater determination. He began recording professionally around 2013, navigating financial and industry challenges while steadily building his craft.
Shun Breezy first gained attention with singles such as “Na So” and “Kon To Ji” in the mid-2010s. His growing reputation earned him performances at events including the Coke Studio Campus Tour and Etisalat Cliqfest, helping establish him as one of Nigeria’s promising emerging talents.
A major turning point came in 2020 when he signed with Sony Music West Africa. His debut release under the label, “Oju Aja,” showcased his storytelling ability and captured the aspirations of young Nigerians striving for success. The song marked the beginning of a new chapter in his career and introduced his music to a broader audience across Africa.
Beyond his work as a recording artist, Shun Breezy has also earned recognition as a songwriter. One of his most notable achievements is co-writing “In The Garden” from Davido’s acclaimed "Timeless" album, a milestone that highlighted his songwriting abilities and expanded his profile within the Nigerian music industry.
Known for his emotive vocals, introspective lyrics, and fusion-driven sound, Shun Breezy continues to position himself as part of the new generation of Nigerian artists bridging traditional influences with contemporary Afrobeats. His music often explores themes of ambition, love, resilience, and personal growth, reflecting both his life experiences and the aspirations of his audience.
